Priyanka Chopra starrer A Kid Like Jake to premiere at Sundance Film Festival


The festival will be held from 18 January to 28 January 2018 in Park City, Utah.

A Kid Like Jake, starring Jim Parsons, Claire Danes, Octavia Spencer and Priyanka Chopra, is all set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2018, which will be held from 18 January to 28 January 2018 at Park City, Utah in the US.

Directed by Silas Howard and written by Daniel Pearle, it revolves around a married couple Alex (Danes) and Greg (Parsons) and their relationship with their young son who prefers Cinderella to GI Joe as a rift grows between them. 

Chopra plays the role of a single mother and a friend of the couple, who is also trying to navigate the school admission system with them. 

The actress shared the news on her Instagram account, writing, "When I read the script of #AKidLikeJake, I knew immediately that this was a story I had to be a part of.. A story that needed to be told and seen..And now it’s been selected for @sundanceorg !!! I can’t wait for you all to see this amazing lil film we’ve made."

Helmed by a trans director, Howard, the film will be among a good line-up of LGBTQ films, which includes films like The Catcher Was A Spy and The Happy Prince, among others.

A Kid Like Jake will one of the 15 films premiering at the prestigious film festival.

Another film with an Indian connection is American director Derek Doneen's Kailash, a documentary on the life of Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi. It will be screened as part of the US Documentary competition section.
