The teaser for Amit Kumar's Monsoon Shootout, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Neeraj Kabi and Vijay Varma, has finally been released.
The film, produced by Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment, was premiered at the Cannes film festival in 2013, but its release in India has long been delayed.
The makers of the film have released the first teaser of the film today.
The 38 seconds video encapsulates the film's story unraveling over one stormy night. The three main protagonists of the story, the veteran cop Khan (played by Neeraj Kabi), the rookie Adi (Vijay Verma) and the ruthless serial killer Shiva (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) find themselves face to face as the storm descends on Mumbai city. The consequences of Adi's decision determines the future of the three lives.
The teaser captures the noirish feel of the film, with its perfect depiction of a rainy, watery city.
Siddiqui looks in prime-form as the vicious killer on the run. The taut visuals also capture the tension and the crucial moment of Adi's encounter with the killer in the sudden storm.
Monsoon Shootout is directed by Amit Kumar, and is set to be released on 15 December.
Correction, 20 June 2019: The actor Vijay Varma's surname was misspelt as Varma in an earlier version of the report.
