Kannada television actress Rekha Sindhu has died in a car accident along the Bengaluru-Chennai highway on Friday. The actress, who has featured in several Tamil and Kannada TV shows, was on her way to Chennai when her car was involved in a collision near Pernambut. The actress was 22. All four passengers of the vehicle died in the accident.
The actress's co-passengers, Abhishek Kumaran, Jayankandran and Rakshan, along with the actress were rushed to the Tirupattur Government Hospital immediately. However, none of them survived the collision. The police are currently investigating the incident.
Sindhu, a popular actress for her television stints in both the Tamil and Kannada industries, was mourned by several fans on Twitter.
However, the social media shock also led to a confusion as fans began tagging another TV actress, Rekha Krishnappa, in the tributes. Krishnappa had to later clarify the situation stating that she is still alive.
