As a writer and director, Amole Gupte’s penchant for children-based film is well-known by now. Taare Zameen Par (2007), for which he was the writer and creative director, is one of the most iconic children’s films to be made in India. He followed it up with two directorial ventures, Stanley Ka Dabba (2011) and Hawaa Hawaai (2014).
Gupte is now back to his most loved genre with Sniff. As per an official statement, the film “is a family entertainer that revolves around an 8-year-old ‘wonder’ boy who is a spy-in-the-making along with his curious gang of extraordinary cohorts.”
The release date for Sniff has been fixed as 25 August.
The film stars child actor Khushmeet Gill in the lead along with Surekha Sikri, Sushmita Mukherjee, Manmeet Singh, Putul Guha.
A teaser, which was released some time back, shows the group of kids deligently working as secret detectives. Despite their age, they help solve high profile criminal cases. Their office is called Sniff Headquarters. Their leader, Sunny, has an unbelievable sense of smell. Hence, the title.
Sniff is produced by Eros Internationals’ arm, Trinity Pictures.
