As per latest reports, Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic has been delayed. The film was due to be released during Christmas weekend this year. But it has now been postponed to late March of next year. The reason for the delay hasn’t been disclosed yet, but it can be speculated that Salman Khan's close friendship with Sanjay Dutt could have prompted them to delay the release.

The news will trigger disappointment among the Hindi film audience for quite a few reasons. There is high amount of anticipation to see Dutt’s real life to be portrayed on screen. Plus, the unofficial pictures of Ranbir impersonating Dutt that went viral earlier in the year added to the excitement. The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor looked highly similar to Dutt in them.

And, needless to say, there is always keen anticipation for Hirani’s films as he has become Hindi cinema’s blockbuster machine. He has made four films till date – Munna Bhai MBBS (2003), Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), 3 Idiots (2009) and PK (2014) – and all have been massive successes. The film stars Paresh Rawal as Dutt's father Sunil Dutt and Manisha Koirala as his mother, Nargis.

Tiger Zinda Hai is the sequel to Kabir Khan’s 2012 hit saga Ek Tha Tiger. It carries forward the cast of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. But this one is helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar. His last film with Salman, Sultan (2016), which became a blockbuster.
