Box office: Half Girlfriend manages decent numbers in week 1, Hindi Medium sees growth

Saket Chaudhary’s Hindi Medium earned only Rs11.50 crore in its first weekend. But due to the positive word-of-mouth, the film managed to hold well in the weekdays starting Monday, when it made Rs2.50 crore.
The figures for the Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar-starrer remained steady after that. It has now ended the first week at approximately Rs23 crore, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com. The film is reportedly made at a cost of Rs22 crore.
Despite the fact that Sachin A Billion Dreams will be releasing this week, Hindi Medium still stands a chance of earning more in the second week due to the positive word-of-mouth publicity.
Mohit Suri’s Half Girlfriend, which also released with Hindi Medium, has managed to earn a decent Rs47 crore. But the film suffered from a major drop in earnings in the weekdays.
After earning Rs31 crore in the first weekend, the sum of Rs47 crore in the entire first week isn’t as high as it should be for the Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer.
