His career started off on a promising note with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008) but Imran Khan has since failed to achieve consistency. Khan, who was last seen in the dud Katti Batti (2015), is now rumoured to be trying his hand at direction. Khan is tipped to direct a film that will be produced by his uncle Aamir Khan, as reported by Bollywood Hungama.com.

Hungama quoted a source as saying, “Imran has already selected the subject he wants to direct. He will direct his own script. His uncle Aamir Khan will produce Imran’s film."

We called a source close to the actor to check on the reports, who merely said, "It is too early to comment on this." When quizzed whether Imran Khan was in talks to direct a film that will be produced by Aamir Khan, the person on the actor's staff said, "We are not authorised to comment anything on it." It does hint at the fact that while nothing is official yet, Imran is surely working on making a film.

Khan had been launched by his uncle and super star Aamir Khan in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2011). Since then, Khan has had few hits to his credits – namely Delhi Belly (2011) and I Hate Luv Storys (2010). Khan's last appreciated film was Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012). The actor has kept a low profile following the birth of his daughter Imara in 2014.
