Sanjay Dutt got a new lease of life after walking out of jail last year. There’s been no dearth of acting offers for the seasoned actor.

After winding up Omung Kumar’s Bhoomi, Dutt has Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Marco Bhau and Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3. Dutt will be playing the gangster in Dhulia’s romantic thriller franchise. The shoot will take place in Gujarat and the film is expected to go on floors this August.

“The audience have been waiting to know what's happening in the life of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and with Sanju (Dutt) coming on board, we are hopeful the third part is going to be a treat for the audience of our franchise," producer Rahul Mittra told entertainment website Pinkvilla.com.

Throwing brief light on Dutt’s character, Mittra said, "He will look, talk and behave like a true royal. His costumes and appearance will be majestic. The world the films are set in will remain the same but Sanjay will be the central character this time. We are adding several new characters and some of them are big names."

Dhulia had penned the first film Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster in 2011 with Randeep Hooda playing the gangster, while Jimmy Shergill played the Sahib and Mahie Gill was the Biwi. Dhulia had helmed a second film Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster Returns (2013) that featured Irrfan Khan as the gangster.

Dutt is not averse to playing a gangster or bandit having famously played such characters in films like Khal Nayak (1993) and Vaastav (1999).

Dhulia has been keeping a low profile since his last directorial outing Bullet Raja (2013) starring Saif Ali Khan.
