Mohit Suri’s Half Girlfriend and Saket Chaudhary’s Hindi Medium released on Friday, 19 May. The former earned a decent Rs31 crore in the first weekend. Irrfan Khan-starrer Hindi Medium, on the other hand, managed Rs11.25 crore approximately, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Half Girlfriend opened with Rs10 crore on Friday. A film is expected to show growth in the next two days. But this didn’t happen with the Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer. Half Girlfriend managed Rs10.25 crore and Rs10.75 crore approximately on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
The budget of the film is reportedly Rs48 crore. Hence, it cannot afford a big drop on weekdays starting today onwards to at least cover the production cost.
Hindi Medium didn’t open to promising numbers on Friday as it earned a meagre Rs2.50 crore. But the film showed growth in the next two days by collecting Rs4 crore and Rs4.75 crore due to positive word-of-mouth publicity. Its total currently stands at Rs11.25 crore. The film is reportedly made at a cost of Rs22 crore. So, it needs to hold well on the weekdays.
The Hindi version of Baahubali: The Conclusion has continued its dream run. The film has had a terrific fourth weekend as it earned Rs18.25 crore. The grand total of the Hindi version of the SS Rajamouli epic now stands at a staggering Rs474.49 crore.
