Jessica Chastain, nominated for an Academy Award for her performances in The Help (2011) and Zero Dark Thirty (2012), will soon be seen as the legendary Swedish actress, Ingrid Bergman, in the film Seducing Ingrid Bergman, produced by YRF Entertainment and writer Arash Amel. Chastain’s own production company, Freckle Films, will also co-produce the film.

The biopic is based on the 2012 book, Seducing Ingrid Bergman, written by Chris Greenhalgh, and will focus on Bergman’s affair with famous war photographer Robert Capa after World War II. The two later shifted to Hollywood during the tension-filled period of the McCarthy witch hunt for Communists.

In 2014, Amel’s script for the film was on the list of the best un-produced scripts (also known as the Black List).

Producer Uday Chopra, the CEO of YRF Entertainment, said in a statement, "Jessica Chastain is the perfect actress to star in Seducing Ingrid Bergman. Jessica is no stranger to portraying strong, intelligent women and this role deserves an actress of her immeasurable talent. We also feel that she will bring a unique perspective as a producer."

Chopra shared on Twitter that he was “looking forward to working with @jes_chastain”.

Jessica Chastain is currently at the Cannes International Film Festival serving as jury member with filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar and actor Will Smith. YRF Entertainment’s previous production, Grace of Monaco, starring Nicole Kidman and Tim Roth, opened the festival in 2014. Directed by Olivier Dahan and written by Arash Amel, the film was heavily criticised by critics and audiences.
