Ranveer Singh had a funny cameo in Finding Fanny (2014). But the jovial guy has surprisingly not done an out and out comedy film. This is about to change as Singh may sign a Rohit Shetty film soon. Shetty is known for making comic capers, most notably, the Golmaal franchise.
Speaking to Mumbai Mirror tabloid, the Golmaal Again director confirmed that he is indeed keen to collaborate with Singh. “Yes, I am planning a film with Ranveer Singh. We are in talks,” Shetty said.
This will be a maiden film together for Singh and Shetty. However, the duo have collaborated for a noted packaged food brand TV commercial which also featured actress Tamannaah Bhatia.
Singh is currently filming for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati and he has been signed up for Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy in which he is paired with Alia Bhatt.
Shetty will be shooting for Golmaal Again till 17 May before flying off to Spain to host the reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi. Thereafter, he will wrap up the last schedule of Golmaal Again that is due to be released during the Diwali week.
Shetty expressed relief that Golmaal Again would not be competing with Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0.
“My film has shaped up well and I’m glad we have a good window to add to the business. All the Golmaal films have been released on Diwali,” said Shetty.
