The buzz is that the actor is struggling to find distributors for his film and the release may be postponed again.
Will Govinda’s Aa Gaya Hero see the light of day?
Mumbai - 07 Mar 2017 19:50 IST
Seasoned actor Govinda is said to be having a tough time getting his long due film Aa Gaya Hero released. As per reports, the actor hasn’t been able to find a single distributor for the film.
The film was earlier made as Abhinay Chakra in 2015, and Govinda has since reshot the film thrice. Aa Gaya Hero was initially supposed to be released on 24 February. The release date was then pushed to 3 March. The film's release was again postponed to 16 March. However, that week has two releases – Anushka Sharma's Phillauri and Vikramaditya Motwane’s Trapped, starring Rajkummar Rao.
A Mid-Day newspaper report said Govinda is even willing to pay distributors to get his film released but so far no one has come forward.
Requesting anonymity, a trade analyst told Cinestaan.com, "The trade is simply not interested in Govinda’s film. They are not even talking about it. There is absolutely no buzz around the film. Besides, he wants to release it with Phillauri and Trapped. Which distributor would want to put his money into Aa Gaya Hero? Every actor has a sell-by date. Govinda is no longer hero material and yet he is trying to make a comeback as hero! It is sad, but such is life."
Despite our best efforts, Govinda remained unavailable for comment. No word came in from the film’s publicists too. With such uncertainty over the film, it remains to be seen whether Aa Gaya Hero will manage to get a theatrical release.
