Box office: Hugh Jackman’s Logan pips Vidyut Jammwal’s Commando 2

Vidyut Jammwal’s Commando 2 is facing stiff competition from Hollywood star Hugh Jackman’s Logan. The Hollywood flick has bagged a nett of Rs15.25 crore in its opening weekend collections, vis-à-vis Commando 2 which earned Rs13.25 crore nett, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com
The Hindi film bagged Rs5 crore nett on Sunday, (5 March), to take its opening weekend total to Rs13.25 crore. Commando 2 had opened with Rs4.25 crore and got a disappointing Rs4 crore on Saturday. Though the film is made at a budget of Rs20 crore (including Rs8 crore for promotions), it has got a much wider release with approximately 2,200 screens across India.
Compared to Commando 2, Logan got around 1,400 screens in India. Logan had bagged Rs4.25 and Rs5 crore on the first two days and it took the lead again on Sunday, earning Rs6 crore nett taking its three-day total Rs15.25 crore.
With Dharma Productions' Badrinath Ki Dulhania set to hit the theatres from Friday, 10 March, Commando 2 will have to pull up its socks over the week.
