Vikramaditya Motwane’s Trapped, Abbas-Mustan’s Machine and Deepankar Senapati’s Aa Gaya Hero ended their dismal run in the first week by earning Rs2.25 crore, Rs3 crore and Rs1.10 crore, respectively. The figures are as per BoxOfficeIndia.com.
There was little hope for any of the three films after they made a poor Rs1.30 crore, Rs1.70 crore and Rs65 lakh in their first weekend. The growth of Trapped was steady but not noteworthy. The Rajkummar Rao starrer will suffer less damage as compared to the other two films since it has a budget of under Rs10 crore.
Machine and Aa Gaya Hero, though, face monumental loses. Both films were reportedly made at a budget of Rs25 crore each. By that measure, they have earned hardly anything at the ticket window.
The Hollywood movie Beauty And The Beast earned almost double of all three Hindi films combined. It made Rs10.50 crore in the first week in India.
Otherwise, the box office continued to be ruled by Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt's Badrinath Ki Dulhania, despite the film being in its second week. It made an impressive Rs26.25 crore in the week and is set to enter the Rs100 crore club. The film has earned a grand total of Rs98 crore so far.
