Anushka Sharma's home production, Phillauri, releases in theatres today. The actress is juggling two roles, as actor and producer, in Anshai Lal's film. However, she seems to be enjoying the role of producer a lot more. Speaking to PTI, the actress revealed, "It's a very exciting time for me. I think I have found a long-term goal for me. It is the most creatively satisfying experience to collaborate on a film from start to the end."

Phillauri is being coproduced by Anushka Sharma's Clean Slate Films and Fox Star Studios. This is her second film as a producer. The actress previously produced the gritty NH10 (2015). Speaking about the film, Anushka said, "The idea is to push the envelope. I want to push the boundaries of what we understand about movies. There are so many entertaining and interesting things that can be done in this format. The power of cinema is really huge."

Phillauri, directed by Anshai Lal, has Anushka playing the role of a ghost bride to a confused NRI, played by Suraj Sharma. The film also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Mehreen Pirzada. The makers of the film held a special screening for industry insiders on Wednesday, and have already received some positive buzz. Anushka said, "Existence of ghosts is a matter of belief but we have taken a leap of faith. We imagined a friendly one who is as scared of human beings as human beings are of her. Also, the premise of a boy marrying a tree and ending up with a ghost was interesting. We could tell a love story in this backdrop. We were able to create a beautiful cinematic moment."

The actress is joining a number of her fellow actors turned producers like Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza. Apart from Phillauri, Anushka Sharma will also be seen in Imtiaz Ali's tentatively titled, Ring, alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
