Amitabh Bachchan has championed for various causes over the years, most notably empowerment of women. Ahead of International Women's Day (8 March), the superstar has set an example in gender equality by declaring that after he is gone, his assets will be shared equally by his son Abhishek and daughter Shweta Nanda.

In 2016, Forbes had listed Amitabh among the highest paid celebrities in the world placing him at the 18th position with an income of $20 million (approx. Rs133 crore).
