As much as they love the stars, fans need to know where to draw the line when showing their affection for them. Unfortunately, there are times when a few fans cross their limit with stars. Vidya Balan has lashed out at a fan who behaved unruly during the promotion of her film Begum Jaan in Kolkata.
The incident happened on Tuesday, 14 March, when Balan was mobbed by a few fans at the Kolkata airport before she was to catch a flight to Mumbai.
The ever humble Balan obliged a few fans, however, one over zealous man got a bit too excited while taking a selfie with the actress. He tried putting his arm around the actress. Even after a warning from Balan, the fan tried doing it again. That’s when the actress decided to put him in his place.
"What do you think you are doing? This is wrong," she retorted. Since the fan insisted on taking a picture, she said, "No you can’t, behave yourself!" and walked away.
It’s not the first time that fans have crossed the line of decency. In December 2012, Bipasha Basu was mobbed by fans while attending a bash in a Mumbai suburb. Some of them managed to break the security wall and got too close to the actress. Luckily for Bipasha, the security took control of the situation and managed to escort the actress safely.
In a shocking incident in 2014, actress Gauahar Khan was slapped on the sets of a TV show by one misogynist member from the audience who took offence to the dress that Khan was wearing. In her charge, Khan had also accused the man of touching her inappropriately.
The likes of Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, too, have also spoken about instances of indecency they encountered when they stepped out in public for their media commitments.
