Distributors seem to be betting big on the Ajith starrer, Vivegam. The film, directed by Siva, is one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year. The film is still in its final schedule being shot in Bulgaria, but the battle for its rights has already begun.
Reports suggest that there is intense competition among distributors to bag the film's Tamil Nadu regional rights. Sources suggest that the initial bid is pegged around Rs 50 crore. The film is being produced by Sathya Jyothi films.
Industry insiders hint that all the area rights of the film are likely to be sold out even before April 14, when the team plans to release the film’s teaser. This is the key reason behind these early negotiations.
Meanwhile, the team is still on its final schedule of filming. Actor Ajith left today to join the rest of the cast in Bulgaria. He is expected to join the sets tomorrow. The actor's first look on the poster received rave reviews adding to the buzz for the film online.
The film, which also features Kajal Aggarwal, Shruthi Haasan and Vivek Oberoi, is being directed by Siva. The unit has already shot in Chennai and Hyderabad. As of now, industry insiders say that the team plans to release the film on August 10.
