Shashank Khaitan's Badrinath Ki Dulhania worked its magic at the counters by turning in a Rs 54crore nett earning. Though the weekend was tinged by the Holi holiday, and the beginning of exams in some regions, the film managed to put in a decent score at the counters. The Varun Dhawan-Alia Bhatt starrer earned Rs12 crore on Monday, adding to the tally of Rs 42 crore earned over the weekend. This puts the film's earnings at Rs 54 crore, after 4 days.

Unsurprisingly, the best business for the film came in the northern regions of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Punjab. This might eventually grow over the rest of the week. The film opened with Rs 12 crore on Friday, and ended Saturday with Rs14.25 crore. It went on to add another Rs15.75 crore on Sunday. This took the film's collection, in the 3 day weekend, to Rs42 crore.

The film's weekend collections are only behind Raees (Rs59.48 crore) and Jolly LLB 2 (Rs47.59 crore). Khaitan's film has comfortably beaten other star vehicles like Kaabil (Rs30.65 crore) and is far ahead of Shahid Kapoor-Kangana Ranaut-Saif Ali Khan's period drama Rangoon (Rs14.43 crore) on its weekend collections.

Monday was another spectacular day for the film, as it matched its opening day earnings with another Rs12 crore. This takes the film's total box office collections up to Rs54 crore.

This number is quite good seeing how Monday was a holiday on account of Holi.

The business till date is:

Friday: Rs12 crore

Saturday: Rs14.25 crore

Sunday: Rs15.75 crore

Monday: Rs12 crore

Total: Rs54 crore

This puts Khaitan's film 16th on the list of highest Monday earnings in box office history. The film falls just short of Chennai Express (2013) with Rs12.18 crore and Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo (2015) with Rs12.52 crore.

It looks like the Dhawan-Bhatt magic has worked once again.
