The world will never forget it and will not let Vivek Oberoi forget either. The actor has been constantly hounded about the press conference he held 14 years ago, where he started a fight with Salman Khan. The controversy affected Oberoi's career greatly. Remarkably, at a recent promotional event for his next film Bank Chor, Oberoi made a cheeky jibe at Salman Khan.

At the event, Oberoi said, "Pichhle baar jab maine press conference ki thi toh meri tashreef lag gayi. Those who didn’t get this, I would say you all are a Tubelight [I got screwed the last time I held a press conference. Those who didn't get it are tubelights]." The actor was referring to his ugly 2003 spat with Khan, but cheekily took a jibe at Khan whose next film is titled Tubelight.

At a recent awards function, where Oberoi was honoured for his contribution to Hindi cinema, the actor was asked about his thoughts on Tubelight. Refraining from any jokes this time, he heaped praise on Khan and wished him the best for the film.

"I want Tubelight to break the record of Baahubali and become a superhit film. I feel Tubelight has all the capacity to make Hindi cinema proud all around the world and I would like to wish all the luck for the entire team of Tubelight,” Oberoi told the IANS news agency.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion's Hindi version has so far bagged Rs501 crore nett in India. Khan’s Tubelight is set to be released on 23 June.

On 1 Apil 2003, Oberoi had held a press conference accusing Khan of calling him multiples times through the night and abusing and threatening him with dire consequences. Oberoi though found little support from the film industry. Years later, Oberoi even apologized to Salman Khan at an awards do.

It looks like the actor is reaching out for a reconciliation with Salman Khan.
