Days before World Environment Day (5 June), Randeep Hooda has set an example by walking the talk. The actor reached Versova jetty, a heavily polluted area in Andheri, dug his bare hands into the contaminated water to clear plastic that is often dumped in these waters.

Sporting his look from Rajkumar Santoshi’s Saragarhi, Hooda posted a video, urging the citizens to be proactive in their efforts to have a clean India.

“We have to be aware of what we are doing to our environment, then we find solutions. Don’t sit at home and like and dislike things, get into hateful debates on social media. Your retweets, likes, well done are not really making a difference. What will make a difference is you get on to the ground  and do it yourself with your hands. All you got to do is pick one piece of plastic, get yourself dirty, that is the only way that the planet can be a better place," Hooda says in the video.

Hooda then pointed out to the villagers residing near the polluted jetty and urged the citizens to take care of these people and the environment.

The actor reminded the citizens about the Versova beach cleanliness drive that will take place on 4 June.
