Popular television actress Ankita Lokhande has found it tough to gain a footing in Bollywood. The actress is now tipped to make her Hindi film debut with Sanjay Dutt’s Malang.

When contacted Lokhande, she refused to divulge anything. Buzz has it that Lokhande has finally signed her maiden Bollywood film where she will be playing a cop, as reported by tabloid Mid-day.

Malang will be directed by first-time director Aarambh Singh and will be co-produced by T-Series, Sandeep Singh and Omung Kumar.

Lokhande was rumoured to feature in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Happy New Year (2014), but that never happened. Similarly, she was also tipped to make her debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati. Unfortunately, those turned out to be rumours too.

Lokhande became a household name as Archana in her popular television show Pavitra Rishta. While her former Pavitra Rishta co-actor and boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput has made it big in Hindi cinema, Lokhande is still waiting for her moment in the sun. Her fans hope that her long wait ends with Malang.
