Five years after they were part of Yash Chopra's last film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma are coming together again. Aanand L Rai has confirmed that Anushka Sharma will be a part of his upcoming film with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
While Kaif and Khan had already been confirmed as a part of the film, there was no confirmation about Sharma. In a statement released by Rai, the actress has been confirmed as the second leading lady of the film.
In the statement, Rai says, "I'm thrilled that Anushka joins Shah Rukh and Katrina for my next. From our very first meeting, she had an instant connect with the character. She seemed very excited about the challenges that this role entails."
The director goes on to add that "She is at a more than ready stage in her career to essay a complex role like this. We have been working on her look and prepping for the film."
Speaking to newspaper The Times Of India, Rai had mentioned, "The film is not a romcom or a pure love story. It's about new-age relationships. I can't talk about Katrina's or Anushka's characters. While everyone knows that SRK plays a dwarf, there's a lot more to it than just that."
The shooting for the film has already begun in Mumbai. A recent on-set accident has led to a week long suspension, post which Rai will shoot portions with Khan.
Sharma is already working with Khan on Imtiaz Ali's untitled film, while Kaif is currently busy with Salman Khan's Tiger Zinda Hai.
Going by the last film of the trio, there are a lot of things Rai can take hope from.
