Back in May, Priyanka Chopra had a chance meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Berlin. Unfortunately, Priyanka was trolled for her "indecent" attire. Priyanka gave it back to the trolls by posting a picture of herself with her mother Madhu, both showing off thier legs.
Recently, Madhu spoke about the needless criticism.
Speaking to Spotboye.com, Madhu said, “I thought she was most demurely dressed. She was going for the Baywatch premiere, while Prime Minister Modi was there to meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Both of them were dressed pertaining to their duties. It was not a planned meet, so there’s no way that she would have asked for two minutes and changed into a saree. Narendra Modi wasn't offended by it. If that was the against the protocol, then she would have not been allowed to even meet the Prime Minister. His officers surely would have stopped Priyanka at the gate.”
Madhu wasn't bothered about the needless controversy, but was surprised that no one bothered to know what transpired in the conversation.
“This was no planned meet. They were supposed to meet for 2-5 minutes but the conversation lasted slightly longer. I’m surprised that no one bothered to know what these two global icons, high power entities spoke? They spoke about how to improve the image of India. Priyanka herself was surprised as to what had happened to our people. What I’m surprised is how these trolls are given importance,” quipped Chopra.
