Subramanian Swamy, former president of the Janata Party and now a Rajya Sabha member from the Bharatiya Janata Party, has taken a dig at superstar Rajinikanth. Swamy, who is known for his controversial statements, hit out at Rajinikanth, who is currently in the United States for medical treatment.

Swamy a posted a picture of Rajinikanth in the US, questioning why the superstar was in a casino when he was in the US for medical reasons.

In the tweet, Swamy called Rajinikanth a '420' (a number commonly used to describe cheats) and called upon the Enforcement Directorate to investigate his assets.

Swamy's jibe comes in the wake of speculation that the South Indian cinema superstar is set to join politics by floating his own party.

In May, the actor had issued a statement that he was not interested in joining politics but would nevertheless show the door to all "money-minded people".
