Four Hindi films were released yesterday, 28 July - Indu Sarkar, Mubarakan, Raag Desh and Baaraat Company. Anees Bazmee’s Mubarakan posted an earning of Rs 5 crore, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com, Madhur Bhandarkar's Indu Sarkar had to settle with Rs 85 lakh.

The Anil and Arjun Kapoor-starrer was released in 2350 screens across India and was made on a budget of Rs70 crore, while Kirti Kulhari's Indu Sarkar was released in 825 screens across India and was made on a budget of Rs 11 crore. Even though, Mubarakan has bigger number to quote than Indu Sarkar, film might yet have failed to meet the expectations, given its budget and the scale of release. Thus, it will have to do much better over the weekend. While the film has largely got mixed reviews, seasoned actor Anil Kapoor has been widely praised for his role. The makers will hope for better returns over the weekend. The worry for Mubarakan and the other new releases is that come 4 August, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal will hit the screens.

Indu Sarkar had to face difficulties even after its release. Shows were cancelled after Congress party members held out protests at various venues.

The earnings of Raag Desh and Baaraat Company have not been announced yet.

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor’s Jagga Jasoos continued to crawl at the box office bagging just Rs.52 crore in 15 days.
