Bareilly Ki Barfi song: 'Sweety Tera Drama' will drive away your Monday blues

Composed by Tanishk Bagchi, the fantastic chartbuster is utterly danceable and fun to listen.

The first song from the splendid looking Bareilly Ki Barfi is out. Composed by Tanishk Bagchi, and sung by Dev Negi, Pawni Pandey and Shraddha Pandit, the song is a fantastic foot-tapping number that launches the soundtrack of Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's quirky film.

Set as a wedding song, 'Sweety Tera Drama' combines the colour, magic and fun on screen, with Bagchi's simplistic, but thumping composition.

Rajkummar Rao is in fine form as the maverick Pritam Vidrohi, while Ayushmann Khurrana brings some swag to the song with his typical Delhi moves. Kriti Sanon is a delight as she pulls off the confident Bareilly girl with some style. Pankaj Tiwari and Seema Pahwa bring up the cuteness with their antics as the sober parents who let loose at the wedding.

But it is Bagchi's composition that steals the show. Simple without being simplistic, Bagchi picks off with some effortless percussion of dholak, sarangi and harmonium bringing in an authenticity to the wedding track. The composer certainly returns to his Tanu Weds Manu Returns mode ('Banno', anyone!) with this track.

The composition is funky and immensely fun to listen to. The lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed are a mix of wonderful gibberish and authentic UP slang, and raise the tempo of the composition. The rap by Pravesh Mallick, introducing the song, is catchy.

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's film has already caught the attention with its quirky storyline and plot. The film will be released in theatres on 18 August.
