Anubhav Sinha: Lipstick Under My Burkha to create new success economics

The producer-director tweeted that Alankrita Shirvastava's film will pave way for success econimcs that is devoid of 'Fridays' and over-hyped paid success cacophony.


Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha has lauded director Alankrita Shrivastava's new film Lipstick Under My Burkha on Twitter, stating that the movie will create a new success economics in Bollywood.

Lipstick Under My Burkha struggled for certification from the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) earlier this year over its sexual scenes and use of abusive words and released on Friday (21 July).

"Films like Lipstick Under My Burkha will create a new success economics which will not be about Fridays and over-hyped paid success cacophony," Sinha tweeted on Sunday.

According to, the film earned Rs1.1 crore on its first day, and registered a growth of 70% on its second day, bagging Rs1.85 crore. 

Sinha is a producer-director-screenwriter, known for films like Gulaab Gang (2014), Ra.One (2011), and Tathastu (2006).
