Kangana Ranaut suffered a serious injury while shooting for Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi in Hyderabad. The actress got badly hit on her forehead while shooting a sword fighting scene with co-actor Nihar Pandya. She was rushed to the hospital, where she will be admitted for a week.

It all happened when she couldn’t duck in time when Nihar attacked her with a sword. This resulted in an injury to the forehead for which she had to get 15 stitches. Producer Kamal Jain told a daily, “Kangana had to duck when Nihar attacked her but the timing went wrong and Nihar’s sword hit her forehead instead. It made a deep cut between her eyebrows.”

That wasn’t the only problem though. It was a struggle to reach the hospital. But Ranaut kept fighting through her will power. “The drive to the hospital took a good 30 minutes, but she put up a brave front despite the pain and bleeding. Nihar was apologetic and felt terrible, but Kangana pacified him,” added Jain.

The doctor has said that the injury will leave a scar on her face. But a source told the daily that Ranaut has decided to flaunt it. “Rani of Jhansi was a warrior. So Kangana has decided that she will wear her scar with pride just like the Queen of Jhansi did,” said the source.

The accident could have been fatal. “The examining doctor said that it was a close shave for her because the cut was too close to her bone,” added the source.

Seeing a lot of concern among Ranaut's fans, her sister and manager, Rangoli Chandel assured that she is on the path to recovery. “On a diffrnt note, gtng a lot f concrnd msgs. Kangana gt injurd ystrday on Manikarnika set. She is recovrin  now thanks fr ur well wishes (sic),” she said on Twitter.

Manikarnika is the biopic on the queen of Jhansi. The film is directed by Krish and written by Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali fame.
