Taapsee Pannu, Amit Sadh land in a pickle in RunningShaadi.com: Watch trailer

The first trailer of this Shoojit Sircar co-production is funny, and the film seems like a lot of fun.

Every society changes with time, and with time change its institutions, including marriage. And the subject of marriage often brings to the fore the generation gap between youngsters and their parents.

Shoojit Sircar’s next production, RunningShaadi.com, latches on to this very topic to narrate a comical tale. The trailer of the film is out and it suggests that the film will be an interesting, light-hearted entertainer with the typical North Indian feel and lingo. It is a modern flick but still quite rooted. Well-etched characters and humour seem to be its strong points.

The film tells the story of two friends, Bharose (Amit Sadh) and Nimmi (Taapsee Pannu). They start a unique service wherein they help couples who wish to get married against the wishes of their elders to elope. How this gets them into trouble forms the rest of the story.

Sadh was last seen in a supporting role in Sultan (2016), where he was appreciated. Pannu is running high on the success of Pink (2016), which became a turning point in her career.

The film is the directorial debut of Amit Roy. He has been a cinematographer for well-known films like Ishq Vishk (2003), Fida (2004), Sarkar (2005), Sarkar Raj (2008) and some other Ram Gopal Varma movies.

RunningShaadi.com is produced by Ronnie Lahiri, Shoojit Sircar and Crouching Tiger Motion Pictures. It is scheduled to be released on 3 February.
