The Aamir Khan starrer also has a chance of breaking the record for the highest collections ever.

After a remarkable run at the box-office even during weekdays of the second week, Nitesh Tiwari’s Dangal is now just a few notches away from the magical mark of Rs300 crore. The Aamir Khan starrer is now at Rs295 crore.
Despite a day to go before the second week ends, Dangal has already snatched the record of highest collections ever in a second week. The film has amassed Rs102 crore in week two till Wednesday. It has broken Aamir’s own record of Rs96 crore, which was earned by Rajkumar Hirani’s PK (2014).
PK did a lifetime business of Rs331 crore, which is the highest for any Hindi film. Dangal now stands a clear chance of beating it. In fact, the film now also has a hope of becoming the first Hindi film to enter the magical club of Rs350 crore.
The film has also earned big in the overseas market. Its worldwide collections have now reached Rs500 crore. It stands fifth in the all time worldwide collections' list behind PK (Rs741 crore), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 604 crore), Sultan (Rs 583 crore) and Dhoom 3 (Rs539 crore).
Dangal is made at a budget of Rs70 crore. So, it is also set to achieve the highest profit percentage ever with whatever lifetime business it ends up with.
As Dangal is expected to beat Sultan’s record of Rs300 crore today itself, it will become the second film of 2016 to achieve this feat. But the point to be noted here is that Sultan reached the figure in five weeks while Dangal will be doing it in just two weeks.
The film is a wrestling drama which also stars Sana Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra in pivotal roles.
