On September 30 last year, Kareena Kapoor Khan filed a complaint with the Mumbai Cyber Cell against an unknown person for allegedly hacking into her income tax (I-T) account. There is a major breakthrough in the case now.

The police have arrested a person last night for allegedly committing the crime. Without revealing the name, they have informed that the person is a 26-year-old Central Armed Police Force personnel hailing from North India. The accused said he had hacked into Kapoor Khan's account as he wanted her phone number to talk to her. He confessed being a big fan of the actress.

He has further revealed that he hacked into her account through her PAN number which he found online.

Inspector S Gaund, while talking to a publication said, “A mobile phone too has several IP addresses assigned to it. We had to figure out which phone had been allotted the IP address when the fraud took place.” The accused has been booked for impersonation and other relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.

The case was brought to light after Kapoor Khan's chartered accountant filed a complaint with the cyber police last year alleging someone had hacked into his client’s account.
