A few days ago Harshvardhan Kapoor raked up a new controversy by questioning Diljit Dosanjh's Filmfare win for Best Debut. The Mirzya actor was reportedly miffed at losing out the trophy to Dosanjh, who is a well-known face in the Punjab film industry. However, Kapoor has now decided to make amends, after his statements backfired, by tweeting out an apology to Dosanjh.
The Mirzya actor wrote, 'Love you to sir, have lots of respect for you and your body of work sorry if I said anything that came out wrong @diljitdosanjh @AnilKapoor.'
Harshvardhan, who was also nominated in the same category for Best Debut Performance by an Actor, had previously said, "Although I picked up two debutant awards earlier, I was really looking forward to winning the black lady. But I guess every awards event has its own parameters. I’ll be honest, though. I think a debutant award is meant for someone working on his first film. It shouldn’t go to an actor who has worked in several films in another industry or language."
In reply, Dosanjh had said in an interview that Harshvardhan's statements did not hurt him. He said, "I wasn't affected by what Harshvardhan said. In fact, I am a huge fan of Anil Kapoor sir. I have no issues with him [Harshvardhan]. Being Anil Kapoor's son makes him a star son and not a star, right? He will also become a big star some day. I have no hard feelings towards him."
The drama seems to have got to Harshvardhan, who decided it might be better to bury the hatchet. Earlier on Friday morning, Harshvardhan tweeted his apology. The genial Dosanjh also replied with a similar tweet saying that it was no issue.
