Hollywood action star Vin Diesel, who is in India to promote xXx: Return of Xander Cage, also starring India's Deepika Padukone, spoke to the media at a press conference on Thursday and he couldn't stop showering praise on his co-star. Diesel was on a gushfest as he called her everything from "queen of the world" to "an angel with a beautiful soul".

"I was waiting for the opportunity to come here. And she is the queen and angel who is such a blessing in my life. She has a such a beautiful soul. To be a part of the magic that is made on-screen is a blessing of my life," said Diesel about Padukone, who is making her Hollywood debut with this film.

"When we talked to her about the very beginning, we were honest that it was going to be a demanding role. Her commitment was apparent since the very beginning. She really made us feel that she would go to all lengths to personify this daredevil of a character. We needed a counterpart to Xander. It was not only the beauty and grace that we need we can rely on, but it was also her willingness to commit to all the action that's demanded," he said.

Diesel even made up a phrase to describe her — thespian majesty. "You have to commit and practise hard and be ready to play a character of this magnitude. That gave us even more confidence beyond her beauty and her thespian majesty," he said.

He also went on to call her the 'queen of the world.

"There is no one like Deepika. She is from India. Though this is her origin, she is the queen of the whole world and so the whole world will get to claim her," said Diesel, heaping praise on his co-star. He also mentioned that he saw her in Bajirao Mastani and he thought she was "mindblowing."

He also said that he had wanted to work with Padukone since ages. She was supposed to do Fast 7 with diesel, but it didn't work out.

"Being in this city (Mumbai) is like a dream come true. I wanted to work with Deepika from a long time. I met her years ago. She requested me she wants to do the premiere in her country. So the fact is that we are here to keep her promise," he added.

Speaking about their on-screen chemistry he said that the two shared a "steamy chemistry" when they first read lines together for Furious 7.

"The love between two characters, me and Deepika in the film is the evidence of multi-culture global harmony we talk about," said The Fast and Furious star.

The movie is the third instalment of the xXx series after the 2002 film xXx and the 2005 entertainer xXx: State of the Union. It also stars Ruby Rose, Samuel L Jackson, Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa.
