Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon has had a poor first weekend. The Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan-starrer has managed to earn only Rs14.31 crore so far.

Rangoon review: Vishal Bhardwaj's most indulgent and disappointing film

In fact, Rangoon is a rare example of collections dropping from the first day onwards. It opened on Friday with Rs5.06 crore approximately. But on Saturday and Sunday, it earned Rs4.75 crore and Rs4.50 crore, respectively, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

Such a downward trend is a poor sign. So, naturally, the collections are expected to be even lower from today onwards as the week begins.

Rangoon is reportedly made at a budget of Rs70 crore. Going by its earnings in the first weekend, it seems the film is all set to be a box office failure unless it sees a sudden jump in the second weekend. Films like Commando 2, Aa Gaya Hero and Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai are expected to release this week.

Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 surpassed the three-figure mark this weekend, which was its second. The Subash Kapoor-directed film’s score stands at Rs103 crore currently.
