Akshay Kumar's Jolly LLB 2 reaches Rs90 crore.
Box office: The Ghazi Attack does well on Monday; Running Shaadi, Irada sink
Mumbai - 21 Feb 2017 14:25 IST
Director Sankalp Reddy’s The Ghazi Attack (Hindi version) had a good run on its first Monday (yesterday). The film managed to earn Rs1.40-1.50 crore approximately. The grand total for the film is Rs7.75 crore currently, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Starring Kay Kay Menon, Rana Daggubati and Atul Kulkarni, the film opened poorly on Friday by managing only Rs1.50 crore. It showed some growth on Saturday and Sunday by earning Rs2.25 crore and Rs2.75 crore, respectively.
Normally, when a film earns so low in the first three days, it fares worse on weekdays. But surprisingly, The Ghazi Attack earned almost the same amount on Monday as on Friday. It seems the positive reviews and word-of-mouth have worked in its favour. However, it needs to hold well in the remaining weekdays too to finish on a respectable number.
The Telugu and Tamil versions of the film have also released. The Ghazi Attack's total earnings in all three languages are Rs15.75 crore approximately.
Running Shaadi and Irada too were released this week. Both films have proved to be box-office disasters and are nowhere in the reckoning. As per BoxOfficeIndia.com, their lifetime business is supposed to be as low as Rs1 crore.
Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 managed to earn decent numbers on its second Monday. By making Rs2.25 crore on the day, its overall total now stands at Rs90.73 crore approximately.
