Pannu, an established name in South Indian cinema, wants maximum traction for her upcoming spy thriller.

Before she set foot in the Hindi film industry, Taapsee Pannu had made a name for herself in South Indian cinema. Pannu doesn't want her fans in the South to miss out on her upcoming spy thriller Naam Shabana, So, the Neeraj Pandey production will have a Tamil release too.
Confirming the same, Pannu tweeted:

Pannu had started her career in 2010 with the Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam. Thereafter she did her first Tamil film Aadukalam (2011), co-starring Dhanush. Pannu received two Vijay award nominations for Best Actress and Best Debut for this film though she failed to win any.
The Vijay awards are presented by the Tamil television channel STAR Vijay to honour excellence in Tamil cinema.
Pannu has done 24 films so far, of which only eight were in Hindi. The rest were in the South Indian languages.
The character Shabana was first seen in the Neeraj Pandey-directed Baby (2015). Having received positive response to the character, Pandey decided to produce the feature film Naam Shabana. The trailer of Naam Shabana was unveiled a few days ago and it has largely received positive reviews.
Naam Shabana is set to be released on 31 March.
