The International Film Festival of Kerala is an annual gala event hosted by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs, government of Kerala.

The 22nd edition of the festival, from 8-15 December, is set to host productions from countries like France, Turkey, Iran, Poland, Japan, Albania, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Israel, Czech Republic, India, besides conducting workshops and panel discussions on contemporary subjects.

Though the celebrations have been marred by the cyclone Ockhi’s havoc in the state, the line up is sure to pump in some excitement.

The Indian Cinema Now section has 7 of the most critically acclaimed films of 2017, including Rima Das’s Village Rockstars, Ravi Jadhav’s Nude, and Dipesh Jain’s In The Shadows. The festival will also celebrate its own regional cinema with the Malayalam Cinema Today section.
