The makers of R Balki's Pad Man, which will be released next month, have spared no effort in shooting the film. The latest video of the making of the 'Aaj Se Teri' song from the film goes into the work and pranks that went into the shooting of the Arijit Singh song which was released on 20 December.

The first song from Pad Man to be released, 'Aaj Se Teri' is a romantic ballad that captures the romance between Akshay Kumar's character and his wife, played by Radhika Apte, as well as the innovative nature of the romance. Lyricist Kausar Munir defines it thus: "I treated it like how you would exchange wedding vows." The song certainly plays according to that theme, with the desi, rural soundscape created by composer Amit Trivedi to bolster it.

However, the magic on screen is created by the presence of Akshay Kumar. Playing what director R Balki calls 'a simple man' in love, Akshay Kumar brought along his innate prankster to the set. At one point, as Balki asks him to stay on the bicycle while raising his hands, à la the poster, for three seconds, Akshay Kumar replies, "3 seconds... I have to be from the circus."

Actress Radhika Apte revealed, "He is a big prankster. He has played so many pranks on me. Right in the middle of a scene something will happen."

The film, incidentally, was shot in the same place where it was written by the director, R Balki — in Maheshwar, which, as Akshay Kumar notes in the video, is a 300-year-old village that is still quite pristine.

The film, Pad Man, is based on the life of social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham and is adapted from a story in Twinkle Khanna's book, The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad.

Directed by R Balki, the film is set to be released on 26 January 2018. Click here to predict the film's box-office performance.
