Social media was flooded with pictures of and wishes for Taimur Ali Khan who celebrated his first birthday yesterday, 20 December. While his celebrity parents Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were showered with love and presents, the little one perhaps has the distinction of being the youngest to have a forest named after him. Yes, you read that right!

This gift though wasn't given by his parents or extended family, but by the people associated with community farming project in Sonave, near Mumbai. The community farming is an initiative undertaken by celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar.

Diwekar penned a nice post explaining why a little forest was named after the toddler.

“A little boy can never have enough of birds, bees and butterflies and so we have put together a small forest as a birthday gift for the little big boy, Taimur, in Sonave,’ Diwekar wrote.

Covering a 1000 sq. ft. plot, the forest has about 100 fruit plants as old or younger than Taimur himself.

“It’s a special forest, one that thrives on intercropping and i hope that as he grows he too will thrive in and celebrate a diverse society. A society where people live together through and due to their distinctions,” she added.
