Sachin Pilgaonkar’s next directorial venture is titled Ashi Hi Ashiqui (2018). Interestingly, it will be the first Marathi film for which Sonu Nigam will sing all the songs.

The singer revealed this tidbit during an exclusive interview with Cinestaan.com. “I am singing all songs in his [Pilgaonkar’s] next Marathi film, Ashi Hi Ashiqui," Nigam said. "I will soon be recording the next song. He has composed the music in the film.”

Nigam and Pilgaonkar’s association goes back a long way. Nigam has sung for quite a few directorial ventures of the Marathi film star, including Aisi Bhi Kya Jaldi Hai (1996), Navra Mazha Navsacha (2004), Amhi Satpute (2008), and Ekulti Ek (2013).

In the 2004 movie Navra Mazha Navsacha, Nigam also had a cameo.

Pilgaonkar had guided the singer when he was new to Mumbai. Speaking about his relationship with him, Nigam said, “I have a lot of love and respect for him.”

Ashi Hi Ashiqui will star Abhinay Berde. The young actor will be playing a lead role for the first time. Berde made his debut at the beginning of 2017 in Satish Rajwade’s Ti Sadhya Kay Karte. Pilgaonkar made a host of comedy films with Abhinay’s father, the late Laxmikant Berde, the most popular being Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi (1989).

Pilgaonkar had announced the film earlier in the year on his birthday. The rest of the cast will be disclosed later.
