It turned out to be a poor weekend for the Hindi box office as far as new releases are concerned. A Gentleman, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, Qaidi Band, Sniff!!! and Muskurahatein released this week and they all registered low to disastrous numbers.

Box office — Bareilly Ki Barfi recovers investment, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha reaches Rs126 crore

Directed by Raj-DK and starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez, A Gentleman is reportedly made at a high cost of Rs60 crore. The film has so far earned only Rs12.25 crore, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com. Hence, it is staring at a major loss.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Babumoshai Bandookbaaz also fared poorly by making only Rs3.85 crore in the first three days. The film is reportedly made at a budget of Rs14 crore. With the film earning less than Rs4 crore so far, its chances of even reaching its cost of production look bleak.

Debutants Aadar Jain and Anya Singh starrer Qaidi Band has turned out to be a disaster. Directed by Habib Faisal, film has made only managed a dismal number of Rs25 lakh in the weekend. Such numbers coming from the biggest banner Yash Raj Films and an acclaimed director is a shocker.

The fate for Amole Gupta’s Sniff!!! is no different. The film managed a very low number of Rs50 lakh.

The week also saw the release of J S Randhawa’s Muskurahatein. The film’s numbers are too low to be reported.
