Tamil actor Ajith Kumar, who has a huge fan base in the south, has clarified that he has not authorized any individual, group, association or social media handle to use his name, image or to make any statements or express social, political or personal views on his behalf.

Kumar noticed that people had also been trolling members of the film fraternity, journalists, critics and other individuals. Stressing on the need to identify such miscreants so that they could be held accountable for their actions, the actor tendered an unconditional apology for any harm caused by the trolling.

He also cleared that he does not have accounts in any of the social media platforms, and social media accounts in his name are fraudulent.

The actor, through a public notice issued by his legal counsel Bharath, also clarified that he does not commercially endorse any brand, product, corporation or association.

Stating that he was thankful and grateful to his genuine fans, followers, film journalists, critics and the general public who have supported him through the years, Kumar said that he does not prefer to have any official fan clubs.

The actor's apology comes in the wake of a recent incident in which a journalist was trolled by fans of actor Vijay for her observations on Twitter about one of his films.

Vijay had only recently issued a statement in this regard. Fans of both actors engage in vicious battles on social media platforms. Ajith's move to distance himself from groups, that call themselves his fan groups and engage in vicious online battles, has recieved appreciation from various segments of society.
