Akshay Kumar's turn as the good man building a toilet in Shree Narayan Singh's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha seems to have hit the right note, not just at home, but overseas as well. The team received a pleasant wish from Academy Award nominated actress, Salma Hayek.
Hayek, a campaigner against open defecation and women rights, wished the film luck on its opening day. She wrote, 'Good luck to @akshaykumar on @ToiletTheFilm out today! End #OpenDefecation now! No woman should fear going to the toilet! #ToiletEkPremKatha.'
Akshay Kumar thanked the actress for her wishes saying, 'Thank you for your wishes for our small effort towards #GoingODF : #ToiletEkPremKatha'
The actress had met the Khiladi (1992) actor at the Global Teachers' awards in Dubai in 2016.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is directed by Shree Narayan Singh, and was released on 11 August.
