Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth were the centre of attention at the celebrations of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (DMK) 75th anniversary celebrations in Chennai. The actors, who are rumoured to be planning an entry in politics, shared the stage at the event on Thursday, 10 August.
DMK is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its mouthpiece, Murasoli. While Haasan was one of the keynote speakers at the event and shared the stage with former Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin, Rajinikanth was seated among the special guests, which included former BCCI chairman, N Srinivasan.
In June, Rajinikanth admitted that he was in talks with political parties but would only make an announcement after giving it careful thought. "I have not denied it. We are discussing and yet to take a decision. Once I make a decision I will inform you," he said.

At a fan meet in May, he asked his fans to 'prepare for war', hinting at his political aspirations.
On the other hand, Kamal Haasan ran into trouble with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) government in Tamil Nadu, when he accused corruption in the current Tamil Nadu chief minister Palaniswami's government. The chief minister replied to the accusations saying 'He (Haasan) does not know about politics. After he comes to politics and says (such) things, we will give him a proper response."
Since then, the actor has put up several posts on Twitter asking his fans to forward evidence of corruption to the chief minister. In one post, he mentioned that the "day I expressed my voice against the imposition of Hindi, I had become a part politician."
The presence of these two actors, while not confirming their political entry, might just set the stage for something dramatic in Tamil Nadu's politics.
