Director Apoorva Lakhia is wary of releasing his film with Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which has received a tax exemption.
Akshay’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha compels Haseena Parkar to postpone release

The release date of Shraddha Kapoor starrer Haseena Parkar has been postponed, yet again. The film was supposed to be released on 18 August. The new release date of the biopic on gangster and terrorist Dawood Ibrahim’s sister hasn't been decided yet.
Explaining their decision, director Apoorva Lakhia told a publication, “There is no point in trying to get into the current clutter of releases. We all can see what is happening to all the films that are coming out. If we came on August 18 we would have Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal and Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha behind us.”
Apparently, Akshay’s movie is more responsible in compelling the makers to shift the release date: “Akshay’s film has tax exemption. Why should we do something as suicidal as to release our film at a time when the competition is not only tough, but impossible to cope with?” Lakhia said.
Originally, Haseena Parkar was scheduled to be released on 14 July, along with three other big films – Mom, Jagga Jasoos and Chef. But Mom was pre-poned to 7 July, and Jagga Jasoos and Chef were postponed to 14 July and 6 October, respectively.
