Box office: Naam Shabana bags Rs2.25 crore on first Monday

Naam Shabana had been going steady at the box office since its release on 31 March. Accordingly to BoxOfficeIndia.com, expectedly, the earnings of the Taapsee Pannu-starrer spy thriller dropped by over 50 per cent on its first Monday, as it made Rs2.25 crore nett. Naam Shabana’s four-day total stands at Rs20 crore nett.
After opening to a decent Rs4.75 crore on its first day, Naam Shabana had improved collections on Saturday at Rs6 crore and Rs7 crore on Sunday, respectively. The film, which is made at an approximate budget of Rs25 crore, had released across 2,100 screens in India.
The drop on Monday was expected, but the makers will hope for better returns on Wednesday (5 April) which is a holiday in certain parts of India on account of Ram Navami.
The film, which also has an extended cameo by Akshay Kumar, has fared better than Phillauri which managed only Rs20.75 crore nett in two weeks.
Naam Shabana will hope to up the ante in this week as there are no big releases on 7 April.
