Hollywood action film Baywatch is keenly awaited in India for two reasons: One, it is based on the long-running racy television series of the same name that was quite the rage in the 1990s. Two, it features Hindi film star Priyanka Chopra as the antagonist.

The latest trailer of the film has just been released and it has served to heighten the anticipation. But what has caught our eye is the Hindi version of the trailer. It features Katrina Kaif.

Well, to be precise, the trailer only features Katrina Kaif's name. But it was enough to get us interested.

This is how it goes. In one of the sequences, Zac Efron, one of the leads, dresses up as a woman to fool Chopra's character. To taunt Efron, PC says, "Chal na, Katrina."

This is not the only Hindi film connection in the trailer. In another scene, Efron’s character, while explaining something, remarks, "Dil toh baccha hai ji [The heart is but a child]."

It appears that the makers have tried to make Baywatch more relatable to Indian audiences. It will be interesting to see if there are more Hindi film references in the film.

Directed by Seth Gordon, Baywatch is set to be released on 25 May.
