Meri Pyaari Bindu song 'Afeemi': Ayushmann Khurrana, Parineeti Chopra get high on love

The latest romantic song from Maneesh Sharma's production is quite intoxicating.

Suparna Thombare

After using alcohol, hukka and other other such items to compare the high of being in love, lyricist Kausar Munir comes up with a brand new idea — afeemi pyaar. In the latest 'Afeemi' song from Meri Pyaari Bindu, Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra seem to be experiencing an intoxication that only something like opium can induce!

What lyricist Kausar seems to be saying is that, just like afeem, love does help reduce pain and induce a pleasurable dream state. In the song video, Khurrana and Chopra can't seem to get enough of each other, even as Bindu is seen climbing the ladder of success as Abhimanyu Roy is being her pillar. They can't resist the temptation as the song goes: Afeemi hai tera mera pyar.

'Dheere dheere se teri chahat chadhti hai, thodi nadaani si, thodi shaitani si teri aadat badhti hai,' writes Kausar, and the song slowly builds up and this Sachin-Jigar composition grows on you quickly. The song is sung by Jigar Saraiya and Sanah Moidutty, who last sang AR Rahman's 'Tu Hai' from Mohenjo Daro.

Apart from the composition itself being soft, breezy and easily likable, the chemistry between Chopra and Khurrana is also quite sweet and the romance feels fesh.

Directed by Akshay Roy, Meri Pyaari Bindu will be released on 12 May.
