After all she has said and done, Kangana Ranaut might be the last person to be found at a Karan Johar party, but the director seems to be keen on it. On The Town Hall show in New Delhi with journalist Barkha Dutt, Johar hinted that he was willing to bury the hatchet with Ranaut.

Speaking to Dutt, Johar said, "I felt attacked, why should I apologise? She had an opinion and I respect that, but I had my opinion to give as well."

His opinion that Ranaut should 'leave the film industry' if she found it too oppressive got the director a lot of flak. Even Ranaut hit back at the director saying the film industry was not 'his studio'. However, Johar seems to be keen on ending the issue. He added, "I am a fan of Kangana. I didn’t call her to my last party, but I’ll call her to my next party."

The director seemed to be in a revelatory mood at the talk, speaking about a variety of issues from his infamous 'hostage video' for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to the growing distance between himself and 'best friend' Kajol. The director, though, seems to be in a better space after becoming a father.

Speaking about his Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress, Johar said, "Some relationships and friendships have an expiry date... I have no relationship with that man (Ajay Devgn). He was never a friend or even an acquaintance." Looks like it will take a while for the ice between the Devgns and Johar to thaw.

Speaking about the troubled times during the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Johar mentioned he felt 'spineless' for having to apologise in the video. Johar had to pay up Rs5 crore for having cast a Pakistani actor in his film. The episode turned many against Johar on Twitter. However, the director said social media is only 'baptism by fire' and prepares you for everything else.

Despite a mixed year, it looks like Johar is all set to make a new beginning. He will probably start with that invitation to a certain Ranaut.
